Formspring is a web service that allows users to interview other users.
This is embodied by the well-known expression, “Ask me anything”, which is coincidentally Formspring’s slogan.
It’s completely uncensored and unrestricted, but also anonymous. Formspring could even serve as a dating platform. People would ask others questions to narrow down their possibilities.
At the present, though, Formspring is little more than a distraction. It lifted many of the concepts from Twitter, with followers, and similar user profile formats. In future, it could become just as useful as Twitter, but in a very different way. Fans could intimately connect with celebrities, and in turn, celebrities could intimately connect with their fans. You may say that Twitter and Facebook already offer this, but Formspring allows it on a much deeper level.
Integration with our social networks such as Digg, Facebook and Twitter would certainly increase the site popularity, beyond its minimalist format; i.e. Tweeting or Digging questions. More than anything, it could become a valuable tool for interviewers.
What’s my question? Will you use Formspring?
