Smartbooks are essentially micro-netbooks. They offer all the features of a smart phone, and 90% of the features of a netbook. Freescale has announced their smartbook for C.E.S.
Lenovo is also planning to launch one of the first smartbooks at the upcoming C.E.S.
The Skylight
The Skylight will truly illuminate cloud computing. It reportedly runs Android, Google’s Mobile operating system, but includes a sleek interface for web-access, shown in the photo. It weighs less than two pounds. It features a 1 GHz CPU, GPS, HD recording and playback, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile broadband. Lenovo also claims that the smartbook has a lightweight form that’s slimmer than most smartphones.
