SumtnSumtn – The First Ever Onsite Tweeting Tool that Brings Conversation to Every Webpage for Every User

founded by three college students in June 2009, SumtnSumtn is a newly-launched Germany-based startup which aims to put Twitter conversations to every webpage for every user. It enables users to send tweets directly from any website they are surfing on and a conversation thread about the current website can be shown by a simple bookmarklet. This “onsite” tweeting tool works similarly to the commenting feature most blogs has, and the only difference is that it’s more social by making use of micro-blogging platform Twitter and you get to meet interesting people along the way.

The young folks there intend to boost the interaction of both bloggers and readers. For bloggers, they are able to embed a widget, which integrates a great commenting functionality. As soon as a user leaves a comment, this is shared via the Twitter network, along with a short link back to the page. Besides that, websites owners can garner more potential readers to their site with regards to the tweets and discussions in the Twitterverse. As for readers, they can create discussions and conversation or even share their thoughts and opinions towards a particular issue. All tweets are aggregated into the SumtnSumtn-sidebar making content-related dialog possible. In this way SumtnSumtn connects Twitterers with same interests, who wouldn’t have met otherwise.

SumtnSumtn is currently in private beta and the free service doesn’t require any registration or installation. To start, simply drag and drop the bookmarklet to your bookmark-bar and click on it on any webpage or website you are on. As simple as that.
