Social networking and bookmarking websites are so powerful that a blog article can reach to the other end of the world very quickly. There are quite a number of blog widgets out there that allow readers to easily share interesting blog posts with their friends to social sites in just a click. Two great examples would be Tweetmeme’s
retweet button and
Facebook’s Share button. Bloggers use them to garner more visitors and boost engagement.
Reshare.it is a mash-up of both Tweetmeme’s retweet button and
ShareThis button. Created by
Zachary Collins, the 14-year-old founder of
Yazzem, Reshare.it lets anyone generate a share button to place on their website or blog, and gives blog readers a wide variety of social services to choose from. The button will display how many times a webpage is being shared. Every time a page is ‘reshared’ on a social network or bookmarking website, it is added to the homepage.
Supported social services include Bebo, Blogger, Yahoo! Buzz, Delicious, Digg, Facebook, Fark, FriendFeed, Google, HelloTxt, Identi.ca, Linkedin, MySpace, Netvibes, Reddit, StumbleUpon, Tumblr, Twitter, Virb, Xanga, Yammer, Yzzem, Bit.ly, and last but not least via email.
